Parmer case records, 1956-1959.

Description: The Parmer Case and subsequent dismissal of both C. Harrison and Ruth Parmer from the Stout faculty constituted quite an interesting aspect of Stout history. What began as a complaint in promotion denial escalated into a series of accusations involving sexual conduct, suicide, mismanagement, and other activities on the part of Stout administration. As president of the state Association of Wisconsin State College Faculties, Guy Salyer accumulated materials relating to the case. The collection includes newspaper articles; correspondence of C. Harrison and Ruth Parmer with the Board of Regents, President Verne C. Fryklund, and others; correspondence of Fryklund with the Parmers; the document prepared by Stout to refute the charges; and subsequent dismissal letters to the Parmers.
